Are you happy or just comfortable?





There is a major difference between feeling happy and just being comfortable. Being happy means that you get excited for what you are doing, you feel happy to do your daily tasks and love what you do most days.


Being comfortable means that you are neither happy or sad. It means you are kind of content with your life but you know deep down that you could do a lot better, you have so many cool ideas in your head yet you stay put because it feels comfortable, but you aren’t truly happy.





Being comfortable means you are stagnating, it means that your potential isn’t being reached. It means that you do the same boring tasks day in, day out, not because you really want to, but because it kind of pays the bills and gives you security. You already know what’s coming, you have nothing much to look forward to in your career or life because you know exactly what you need to do for the day ahead. You struggle to get out of bed in the morning because you already know what the day has to offer and you aren't looking forward to or working towards anything exciting.


Humans thrive on feeling like they are needed in the world. They thrive on excitement, achievement and challenges. It’s widely encouraged to try something new every now and then so you don’t get bored or complacent. The truth is, if you feel bored or low, you need to change something in your life. No one is going to come and change your life for you, it's completely up to you. Go out and make things happen. You need to change up your routine, try new foods, go to somewhere different, apply for a job you actually would like to do, save for that holiday you have been dreaming about.





The whole point of being on this Earth is for you to achieve as much as you can and enjoy as much as you can. To live life to its maximum potential. To have a lot of wow moments, and more I can’t believe that just happened moments.


When you look back at your life in years to come, can you look back on it and smile? Or will you look back and think ‘I wish I’d have done more’.


You are in control of your life. I understand that life can bring some unfortunate circumstances, but it’s how you react to those circumstances that make the most difference.





You don’t have to change your whole life overnight, that’s just unrealistic. But try one new thing today. Make a small change somewhere in your life and see how your mood changes. Even if it is just eating something new for dinner, something potentially healthier than usual.


Make time for your happiness. It’s important to work hard, but it’s also important to play harder!


Find your excitement in life again and build a life you won’t need a vacation from.


Live your life, you won’t regret it.
