How To Motivate Yourself To Achieve Your Goals


Motivation is a term that you hear a lot, and there is tons of advice available for how to gain it and how to get it back. But the truth is, motivation will always come and go, so you can't rely on it to get things done all the time. If you want to get things done, you have to dig deep inside yourself and motivate yourself everyday.

You have to realise that if you want success, with whatever that maybe, you have to work really hard. I know that some people happen to fall into success, but the odds of that happening are very low, in fact it rarely happens. So if you want opportunity, you have to create opportunity in every way shape or form.

How can I get motivated?

When you really want something so bad, you will have motivation. Everyone has bad days, we all have days where we feel a little down or sad, and it's OK to take time out of your busy schedule and take time for yourself. In fact, it's highly recommended that you look after your mental health. When you need a break, and you feel your body asking for a break, you should take it. But you have to feel the difference between laziness and a lack of motivation, compared to needing some time out to refresh and recharge.

You need to grab a pen and a notebook, and you need to write down what you want to be doing with your life, what career you want, and how long it may take to get there. You then need to write down how you are going to get there, and all of the different steps you can take to achieve where you want to be. Then you need to think about it, think about the life you want. The truth is, a lot of people who suffer with depression stems from not having goals, and not having a life they are proud of and in return feeling worthless. You need to feel like you have a purpose in this world, and working towards your goals is one of them.


A great way I like to motivate myself is to get inspiration from others. I like to watch my favourite Youtubers, read my favourite blogger's posts or watch motivation videos. Things like this can go a long way for inspiring you to work that little bit harder or find some motivation. When you see that other people can achieve things, it gives you the inspiration and motivation that you can do it too.

Be wary of who you surround yourself with both personally and on social media. Make sure the people around you inspire you and uplift you when you are with them. Being around people that make you feel good about yourself and inspire you can give you that extra boost you need to stay motivated. On the opposite end of the scale, if you surround yourself with people that laugh at your dreams or make you feel about yourself, this can sometimes prevent you from achieving and make you not want to chase your dreams.

Look after yourself

Another way of motivating yourself is to try as best as you can to stay active and keep a healthy lifestyle. The better you feel within, the more motivated and confident you will feel to achieve your goals. Make sure you are looking after your mental health by getting enough sleep and keeping a healthy lifestyle.
