How To Reset Your Life

Start over.

Start now. Start small. Start again.

Take a deep breath, and breathe new life and new air into yourself.

I am now 25 years old, going to be 26 soon, and at this age I have really started thinking about where my life is going and where I am headed. I am also thinking about what my life is like at the moment and where I want to be. It’s not an easy journey, but it’s a long journey. It’s not really something that can happen overnight, maybe not even a week. It’s a long process that can take a year and more.

You have to start from the outside in. You have to first take a look at how you are on the inside. Are you the person you really want to be? Are you letting yourself slide a little bit? Are you putting too much pressure on yourself?

Take a look inside

First of all, you have to feel good on the inside, and to do that you need to look after yourself internally and externally. Go outside and take a long way, whether it is on your own, with loved ones or with your dog. Take long deep breaths and feel the wind on your skin. Become present in the moment and realise a sense of peace. You will be killing two birds with one stone here by walking, which is great for the body, and bringing your mind to a peaceful state.

Secondly, have a look at what you are putting into your body. You wouldn’t put bad fuel in a car and expect it to run well, so make sure you are giving your body the fuel it needs to face the day and make you feel as good as you can possibly feel.

Forgive yourself

Forgive yourself for any mistakes you have made, you are only human, you are allowed to make mistakes. Forgive your past self for doing the things that you regret. From this day forward, figure out what you really want in life, and remind yourself of all the reasons you want it.

People are habitual characters which means we tend to do what we have always done, and anything other than that can become different to change. Your brain will always try and take you back to bad habits, because that’s what they are, habits. Make sure that when this happens, remind yourself of why you don’t want to go back to those bad habits.

Your mind will try and take you back to habits, but you have to remind yourself why you want what you want.

Be aware of how you feel

Listen to your body and make decisions based off what your body is trying to tell you. For example, if your body feels tired, have a nap, have a coffee or look at what you are putting inside yourself. If you are feeling stressed, take time out to take deep breaths and bring yourself back to a more peaceful state.

Take a long walk that will take your mind off whatever it is you are worrying. Sometimes, when a person is impatient, it can make you over worry that you haven’t got what you want right now, take your mind off it and distract it for a while to make your obsession go. And then figure out a way to get what you want when you are in a less obsessed state.

Look after yourself and make an effort

Make sure you are giving your body what it needs to face the day. Also, if you know there are certain things that make you feel sad that you can control, make sure to avoid that. For example, if dressing up in jogging bottoms doesn’t make you feel good, then dress in something else. The same goes for if you don’t like tight clothing and it doesn’t make you feel good, dress in comfier clothing.

I frequently attend dinners in flat shoes and the amount of women that come to me and say to me they are envious of me wearing flat shoes, then why don’t they wear flat shoes? If you want to wear high heels, then do so, I do occasionally too, but only when I feel like it.

Dress for you, and do whatever makes you YOU.
